PETER VIGGERS CALLS FOR EARLY MEETING WITH MINISTER

In reply to a Parliamentary Question from Peter Viggers, the Member of Parliament for Gosport, the Minister of State at the Home Office, Beverley Hughes, has agreed to visit Lee-on-the-Solent, saying: "The timing of that meeting will be determined in consultation with Gosport Borough Council."

Peter Viggers said today: "I have urged Gosport Borough Council to fix this meeting as soon as possible. It is important that Beverley Hughes should know the strength of local before making her decision on whether or not to proceed with an application for planning permission for the Daedalus site to be an accommodation centre for asylum seekers."
