On
Thursday 3 November, Gosport Conservative Association will
be holding its Autumn Dinner at Golf Club in Lee-on-the-Solent.
Guest of honour will be the Shadow Secretary of State for
Transport, Alan Duncan MP.
Alan was elected to represent the constituency of Rutland
and Melton in the election of 1992. He served on the Social
Security Select Committee 1993-95 and was Chairman of the
Conservative Backbench Constitutional Affairs Committee 1994-95.
In July 1995, he was appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary
to the Rt Hon Dr Brian Mawhinney MP, Chairman of the Conservative
Party. In June 1997 he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the
Conservative Party, and Parliamentary Political Secretary
to the Leader of the Party.
In June 1998,
Alan was appointed Shadow Health Minister. In June 1999,
was appointed Shadow Trade and Industry Spokesman.
In September 2001, he was appointed a Frontbench Spokesman
for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs. In November 2003,
he became Shadow Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs.
In September 2004, he was appointed Shadow Secretary of State
for International Development.
Since May 2005, he has served as the Shadow Secretary of
State for Transport.

Guests will arrive from 7pm, and the formal dinner will
