Petition
launched to show support to the staff of our NHS
Peter
Viggers, MP for the Gosport constituency, this week gave
his backing to the launch of the Conservatives’ online
petition in support of NHS staff and patients, as they
face the effects if labour’s NHS financial crisis.
The
petition calls on Gordon Brown to stop his programme of
NHS cutbacks.
Peter
said, “Across the country,
hospitals are facing closure and services are being cut
back – and Gosport residents know this better than
most, with our ongoing fight to save the Royal Hospital
Haslar from closure.
“Over the years, NHS staff
and the services they provide have saved hundreds of thousands
of lives but, sadly, Gordon Brown’s mismanagement
of the NHS means that the money from Labour’s earlier
NHS spending spree has been squandered – and now
staff and patients are paying the price.
“The e-petition
highlights Gordon Brown’s responsibility for the
NHS financial crisis. We want as many signatures as possible
to show the huge support among members of the public for
our NHS, its staff, and the patients they serve – and
to stop the Chancellor’s NHS cuts.”
