MP
for Gosport, Peter Viggers, has given his support to a
new website containing environmental information about
every car currently on sale in the UK.
The
website – ‘How Green Is Your Car?’ – was
launched at the Conservative Party Conference by Chris
Grayling MP (Shadow Transport Secretary) and is a useful
tool for anyone looking to find out more about the impact
their cars will have on the environment.
Peter
said, “The
Energy Saving Trust was asked by the Government to produce
a set of ‘green’ car league tables. Chris Grayling
has said that Ministers refused to publish that information,
so as part of the Conservatives’ green cars strategy,
we are publishing the information ourselves.”
On
the website, you can:
- Calculate
the CO2 levels for any car currently on sale in the UK
- View
the top 5 vehicles in any particular class with the lowest
CO2 levels
- Find
out more about Green Car Technologies
- Learn
more about Biofuel (Bioethanol), and find out where it
is on sale
- Read
the latest news on Green Car issues
- Find
links to a large number of websites containing further
information
