Peter Viggers, the Member of Parliament for Gosport commented to-day: “Following much discussion since the Hampshire Police made their decision to extend the Daedalus deadline, I believe that the following is the way ahead:
1. Arrange for a Regulator to be appointed for Daedalus airfield and I am pressing the Minister and the MCA for this.
2. Support his review of requirements at Daedalus.
3. Talk to Hampshire Police, MCA, SEEDA and the Department for Transport about the setting up of a Flying Control Régime.
The police have given an extension until 14 December for general aviation to continue. I am convinced that we will need the co-operation of all parties if we are to work out longer term arrangements within this timeframe.”
