Peter Viggers, MP for Gosport and Mark Hoban, MP for Fareham visited DARA (Defence Aviation Repair Agency), Fleetlands on Friday 25 January 08 to receive an up date on the situation regarding the future of the Ministry of Defence helicopter repair and maintenance base. Both MPs were briefed on the current situation and then toured the base visiting the three ‘platforms’ in operation in the base; the Sea King Helicopter platform, the Lynx Helicopter platform and finally the Chinook Helicopter platform. They met many members of the DARA staff and heard and discussed their concerns. Both MPs have promised to monitor the situation closely and await the government’s decision with interest.
