Peter Viggers, MP for Gosport and Mark Hoban, MP for Fareham met with Mr Martin Lamb Area Director of Learning and Skills Council to discuss the future of St Vincent and Fareham Colleges on Friday 25 January 08.
Peter Viggers recognises that there are a range of complicated and difficult problems to be faced by the LSC over St Vincent and Fareham Colleges. At the meeting Peter Viggers raised many concerns over the idea of merging both colleges. In particular he felt that the LSC were seeking a solution to Fareham College’s large financial deficit which the LSC had allowed to develop.
Peter Viggers therefore shares the view which, to the best of his knowledge appears to be unanimous within Gosport that the merger should not go ahead. Peter Viggers wrote to Martin Lamb on 28 January 08 expressing the views communicated in this Press Release.
